Terms of Use
Last updated: 2 November 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Bare Mitt AS, a company registered in Norway (“we”, “us”), about your use of Poma, our app for iPhone and Android (the “Service”). By creating an account or using Poma you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Poma does
You photograph or describe a meal and Poma uses AI to estimate its nutrition and how it may relate to areas like sleep, skin, energy and ageing, and tracks this over time. You can also chat with an AI assistant about your meals.
2. Not medical advice
Poma gives general nutrition and wellness information. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a medical device. It does not replace a doctor, dietitian or other qualified professional. Talk to one before you change your diet or health routine, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, have an eating disorder or a history of one, or have food allergies. Never ignore professional advice because of something in Poma. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number.
3. AI-generated content can be wrong
Scores, estimates, food recognition and chat answers are generated by AI. They can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and may miss ingredients or allergens. Treat them as a rough guide, not as facts. Always check food labels yourself if you have allergies or intolerances.
4. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Poma.
- You sign in with Google or Apple. You are responsible for your sign-in and for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account.
- You can delete your account at any time, see how to delete your account.
5. Subscriptions and free trials
- Some features need a paid subscription. Prices and trial length are shown in the app before you buy.
- Purchases are made and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us, using your store account and payment method.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, and a free trial converts into a paid subscription, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel in your store settings: App Store, Settings > your name > Subscriptions, or Google Play, Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Deleting your Poma account or the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue refunds for store purchases ourselves. Your statutory consumer rights, such as any right of withdrawal, are not affected.
- We may change prices for future periods. The store will tell you and give you a chance to cancel first where the law requires it.
On iPhone, Apple's standard End User License Agreement also applies.
6. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- use Poma for anything illegal, or upload content you have no right to share or that is unlawful, abusive or harmful;
- try to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the security or limits of the Service;
- scrape, copy or resell the Service or its output, or use it to build a competing AI product;
- share your account, or use automated tools to access the Service.
7. Your content
Photos, text and other content you add stay yours. You give us a limited licence to store and process them only as needed to run the Service for you, including sending them to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to analyse your meals and answer your chats. We do not sell your content and we do not use your photos to train AI models. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
8. Our intellectual property
The app, its design, name, logo, text and software belong to Bare Mitt AS or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for yourself for as long as these terms apply. Nothing else is transferred to you.
9. Termination
You can stop using Poma and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. We will give notice where reasonable. We may also stop offering the Service, and if we do we will tell you in advance where we can and refund any prepaid period where the store allows.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Poma is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates are correct or right for you. You use the information at your own judgement.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for intent or gross negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer in Norway, the EU or the EEA, you keep all mandatory consumer rights under the law where you live, and these terms do not take them away.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Poma after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can stop using the Service and delete your account.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to the Norwegian courts, but if you are a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live and the mandatory consumer protection laws of that country still apply. EU/EEA consumers can also find an out-of-court complaint body in the European Commission's list of dispute resolution bodies.
