Delete your Poma account

This page explains how to delete your account in Poma, the app made by Bare Mitt AS (Norway) for iPhone and Android. You can do it yourself in the app in under a minute, or ask us by email.

Option A: delete it in the app (fastest)

The steps are the same on iPhone and Android:

  1. Open Poma and sign in.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your account and data are permanently deleted right away and you are signed out. This cannot be undone. If you only want a break, you can just sign out instead.

Option B: no access to the app

Lost your phone or already uninstalled Poma? Email us from the address you signed in with (your Google or Apple account email):

We may reply to confirm it is really you. Once confirmed, we delete your account and data within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and sign-in details
  • Your profile (name, date of birth, gender, height, weight, diet, allergies, goals and activity level)
  • All meals you logged, including the photos you uploaded
  • Your chat history with the AI
  • Your scores, daily logs and weight entries
  • Your push notification token

What may be kept, and why

  • Purchase records. Apple, Google and our subscription provider RevenueCat keep records of past purchases as required for tax and accounting law. We cannot remove these ourselves.
  • Analytics and crash reports. Our analytics provider (PostHog) and crash reporting provider (Sentry) may keep earlier usage events and crash logs until they expire under their own retention windows. We do not use them to rebuild your profile. You can email us to ask that your identifier is also removed from these services.

Photos and text sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) for analysis are processed on our behalf and are not kept as part of your account. Any temporary copies expire on their side automatically.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so deleting your Poma account does not stop the billing. Cancel it first (or right after) in the store you subscribed through:

  • iPhone: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, Poma, Cancel Subscription.
  • Android: Google Play, tap your profile picture, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions, Poma, Cancel subscription.
